ABOUT
Kati Simon is a Los Angeles based production designer, art director, and fine artist who has over ten years of experience in the entertainment industry, designing for both narrative filmmaking and variety television. Since 2012, she has used an amalgamation of skills to bring stories to life in both the visual development and production stages of shows. In art dept. she sculpts specialty props, paints murals and signage, builds scale models, and fabricates fantastical set dec elements. As a production designer, she visually communicates ideas through sketches and executes them through team collaboration. She has two features set to release this year: Descendant at SXSW in March 2025 and Slay, currently in post production.
Her personal art is fueled by a fascination with microcosms, sets of things, and compact, leatherman-like design. She is passionate about recreating the intricacies of objects and places that bring stories to life. Through dynamic sketching and infographics, her art encapsulates tiny, stylized versions of adventure, work and daily life.
